NEW FOR 2026

Golden hyper-tendril snow pea with occasional burgundy blush. Pods are wide and flat, with a flavour that is more sweet and delicate than their Ruby Beauty parents. In other respects the plants are much the same, with two-toned burgundy and lavender flowers, and vines that reach about 6-7 feet.

I can't take much credit for these. By chance, a few plants with solid yellow pods spontaneously appeared in our 2023 crop of Ruby Beauty snow peas, plus a few sporting a ruby-beauty-burgundy blush air-brushed over the yellow. I saved those seeds separately and grew them out, which resulted in a very similar looking flock of pods on the same RB-style plants.

I've been removing any plant that is more burgundy than yellow, which so far seems to be around 5% or thereabouts. The population seems pretty stable right off the hop, so I suspect the yellow is more likely a hidden recessive trait re-emerging, rather than the result of a chance cross in the Ruby Beauty planting in 2022.
