Heavy producer of small 1-2oz round tomatoes with deep anthocyanin colouring that can get so dark as to appear black. As the tomatoes ripen, the green parts turn red and their glossy sheen becomes somewhat dull. Plants are a compact 18-20", with excellent disease resistance. Fruits are mild, but get more flavourful in dryer conditions.
Mocha's Cherry is a Dwarf Tomato Project variety. It is a descendent of the Anthy family, which comes from a cross between Saucy Mary and an indeterminate high anthocyanin pink cherry tomato in an unstabilized population from Tom Wagner that was shared by Marcia Dillon. Craig LeHoullier made some selections from the Anthy family in 2017, and the best one from 2018 was named Dwarf Mocha's Cherry. Chad Mortimer contributed further stabilization work and the variety was released by the Victory Seed Company in 2022.
